The Sight comes to him unbidden, uninvited, and unexpectedly - quite an inconvenience for such a busy dragon as he. So named for his habit of freezing in place only to stare far, far into the distance, Miles is not the type of dragon typically affected by the gift of the Sight. With that one notable exception, he has no talent for magic whatsoever. He is also probably one of the worst candidates for such a powerful and useful ability, as he is happy to manipulate others with prophecies he makes up off the top of his head. If the story hadn't outdated him, he would be the titular character of The Dragon who Cried Wolf. He lies more often than most other dragons would dare, and always for fun; as such, it's nearly impossible to tell when he's speaking for an actual vision he's had and not some nonsense he's made up on the spot. His lying ways are why he is now essentially Hokkori's underling. Cowed by her ability to see through every one of his lies, he views her as a superior Seer and has made good on his promise to do what he can to make up for his dishonesty. Miles is now essentially her errand boy. Fearing her ability to call him out on every lie he tells, he does whatever she asks of him. Miles cannot control his visions; they come to him seemingly at random. He doesn't always take them seriously, as he personally has never been adversely affected by ignoring them. A nagging worry in the back of his mind says he should be more careful, but this childish, free-spirited Skydancer tends to ignore those sorts of feelings in general. |
