The Observer
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
"Always look at the stars, and we'll know you think of us". The last words his mother said to him, stroking his face while trying to hold back tears. It was going to be only a simple trip to the Scarred Wasteland to observe the sky lights. Besides, he and his brother would get to stay in the Observatory until they got back. Zach never realised what quite happened, he just remembers old Palehorn holding them both while the room was filled with tense arguments about something called an "expedition" and how it got lost. Only a hatchling back then, he didn't think much of it, all he knew was that ol' Palehorn was watching over them and his parents promised they'd be back. They had to.
They promised.
As the Observatory was now their new home, Zacharias spent his childhood and teen years hearing about the stars and eventually developing a deep love and understanding for them. While most dragons that finished their studies there left to find a clan to join, mates and start a family, Zach decided to stay in the Observatory, along with his brother. After all he wouldn't want his parents to come back and not find him there. Spending his days researching about the stars and tending the Eye of Many Lenses, Zach always looks for signs of his mother at the night sky, eagerly awaiting for her to come back to him.
