"I feel pretty, oh, so pretty
I feel pretty and witty and bright
And I pity any girl who isn't me tonight"

Lysa continued the song, humming now, as she finished rearranging all her treasures around her and admired how they sparkled and gleamed. Much as she did herself, she noted with a blissful smile. It was her passion in life to create beauty, to see beauty, to reflect beauty, to collect beauty and it was what drove her daily. There were so many pretties out there and she loved to be surrounded by them.

And maybe her idea of what was beautiful didn't always line up with what other people considered beautiful. Lysa loved colour, loved sparkle and shine. She knew that some people looked at her and saw only BRIGHT in painful ways. They didn't like her colours. They didn't like her genes. They didn't like... her.

When she was younger, that had kind of stung. But Lysa was old enough now to know that variety is the spice of life and dragons all have different tastes. And she was very much to some tastes. She thought with satisfaction about all her previous nest mates and her long list of offspring. Yes, she was very much to some tastes. Maybe that made her shallow but she didn't care. She was happy with being herself.

And she picked up singing where she had left off...

"I feel charming, oh, so charming
It's alarming how charming I feel
And so pretty
That I hardly can believe I'm real"

Some days didn't go as well as others. Some days the gloss just seemed to slide right off the world. Some days, beauty seemed to hide its face and Lysa felt unsettled and out of sorts. And it was days like those that made Lysa glad that she was more than just a pretty face, that she had some creative ways to deal.

Listlessness was rarely something she suffered from. She was energetic and upbeat and usually busy with making her space lovely and neat and, well, pretty. So on those days when the grey seemed to overpower everything and was inclined to bring down her spirits, her itch to be doing something didn't just magically go away. Instead, it turned on her, making her antsy, and then she would resort to one of her go-to activities for getting rid of the irrits.

She broke china. Her ugly china mosaic wall was one of the few places where she threw aesthetics out the window and let it all be about how she was feeling. And there was a kind of lovely awfulness about it. It didn't have order, it didn't make sense, it didn't follow any kind of colour theme or particular pattern. It was just a place to creatively express herself when the feelings inside were not so pretty.

She could trace how she'd been feeling on different days when she looked at the wall. While a lot of it was made up of whatever she had on hand at the time that she felt like sacrificing, she did have a tendency to add in particular shades that reflected her moods.

Luckily, her mosaic wall was making slow progress because the grey days were not overly common. But the members of her clan knew to give her a wide berth for a bit on the days she broke china.
