The Knight of Winds

Kalira was born and raised in the ever blustery Windswept Plateau, her homeland. Her parents raised her lovingly, but they knew that her future held many tests of strength and will. Luckily for Kalira her parents helped to prepare her, starting with the skills of a warrior. This allowed her to become strong in body and mind, sculpting her into a determined warrior with everything to prove. So prove herself she did. Every day Kalira fought to prove her worth, both in and out of battle. It didn’t take her long to become a prized warrior, beloved by all her clan. But behind all that Kalira could feel something was missing, something she could not yet place… So Kalira packed up, leaving her clan as a beloved young warrior, restless and wide eyed.

One crisp morning, as Kalira awoke from a good night’s sleep she spotted a group of dragons off in the distance. It was not a surprise to see other dragons, but for some reason these ones caught her attention. Quickly, Kalira grabbed up all her meager belongings and set off towards the other dragons. It wasn’t long before Kalira could see them with some semblance of clarity. There were three of them, more than she could take on in a fight for sure. Leading the group was a blue mirror, he wore a set of navy wraps likely for supporting his muscles as he ran. The next dragon to catch Kalira’s eye was the large and rather frightful looking Ridgeback, she had many scars, only covered slightly by her moonscale armor. Her face was obscured by a bleak birskull headdress and her neck was wrapped in a bloodied bandage. The last dragon was a skydancer, almost too small to make out as she flitted around the other two dragons.

As Kalira approached she roared a friendly greeting, reciprocated by the mirror with a bob of his head. The group of dragons paused, allowing Kalira to catch up without a snag. She greeted each dragon and politely introduced herself. The mirror quickly introduced himself as Skathel, leader of the clan of Dreaming Chimes. His companions were Azteka - a fearsome warrior from the Southern Icefields - and Illstah - an expert mage, both in and out of battle. Skathel invited Kalira to travel back to the Clan of Dreaming Chimes with them (as they were just heading back from a skirmish with some beastclan warriors) and at least stay the next night. As they approached the clan’s home Kalira could hear the sounds of music and playful young dragons, she could smell cooking meat amongst many other delightful scents.

Walking into the main clearing was breathtaking. Dragons of all shapes, sizes, and colors were going about their business until some caught sight of Kalira and began to scurry over. Skathel, with a booming voice Kalira didn’t think possible for a dragon of his size, called the clan to order. He introduced Kalira to his clanmates with excitement and they welcomed her with open arms. This resounding welcome warmed Kalira’s heart and soul. She felt light as a feather, like she was traveling on a warm breeze to the place where she belonged. It didn’t take long for the dragons of the Clan of Dreaming Chimes to persuade Kalira to move in, and so it is here she stays, every day working to be her best.
