The survivor of a terrible conflict that all but destroyed his home clan, the young infant spiral had fled into the woods of the Viridian Labyrinth away from the fighting behind him. Though he escaped death, he did not leave the bloodbath unscathed. Grievously injured and weak, the child soon collapsed under a tree. Hungry, exhausted, and hurting, he let out a single soft cry. It wasn't long before the light of a green lantern washed over him. The infant opened his eyes just enough to see the face of a skydancer peering over him. She reached down to touch him, and out of instinct he snapped at her paw. She pulled back, cooing gently. "You have a lot of guts and guile, kid." She said. A second voice followed, and the infant became aware of a dark colored guardian in black armor standing in the shadows behind the skydancer. Something about the way this second being melted in and out of the darkness resonated with him. "Guile indeed," The guardian said, lowering her head to look the hatchling over. "Without it he would have been a goner. C'mon kid, let us take you somewhere safe." Calmed by the voice of the guardian, the infant finally allowed the skydancer to lift him into her arms. He coiled his body around them, letting his small eyes close. Growing up, he couldn't help but feel a connection with his two rescuers. This connection would run much deeper than he or they knew. |
