Name Origin: Variola or Variola vera is the latin term for Smallpox. Smallpox is known to be the worst plague in history killing more than 300 million.

Originally born to the light clan where Variola knew since the day he hatched that he didn't belong. His attitude and ruthless behavior often got him shunned everywhere he went. The light clan bored Variola. Knowing that this was not his true destiny he set off on a long flight searching for his purpose. Flying low he spotted something bubbling below. The Wyrmwound ? Quickly he landed and was highly amused. Wandering the outskirts of the Wrymwound where even some of the bravest Plague dragons wouldn't dare to go. No doubt about it this would be Variola's new home. Everything about this place was perfect to him. The smell of decay, the sight of infection, and the sound of enemies crying. Variola grinned for the first time in his life.

Wandering the wastelands of his lair, Variola hunts for blood at any opportunity he gets. He doesn't take kindly to intruders and views them as the perfect opportunity to kill. This dragon is just about as ruthless as it gets like most plague dragons. With venemous spit that could instantly paralyze and slowly eat away an enemy, Variola was not one to be messed with. He would never hurt anyone in his clan, but intruders and enemies should tread lightly.
