Role: weaver Likes: spiders, miths, listening to crickets Dislikes: prismatic anything History: Born an Imperial and brought to Komorebi as a hatchling, Rinzu grew to adulthood with an increasing sense of physical dysphoria. When she was younger and smaller she enjoyed helping the Skydancers at their nimble-handed trades, but as she grew she found her claws outgrowing the delicate scale at which they worked. She ate less and less, trying to forestall her adult growth, but it was becoming obvious that she would someday exceed even Zante's size. She became more and more withdrawn from her clanmates, until even Mori could sense her self-loathing and despair. One day Rinzu returned to her lair to find the Progenetrix waiting for her, carrying a dainty spell-scroll and a moss-covered chest emblazoned with the sigil of the Gladekeeper. "The clan needs you to live," Mori said bluntly, touching foreheads with her. The crack of a wax seal breaking, the whisper of unrolling parchment and a surge of magic: Rinzu felt herself falling away from the suddenly much-larger Guardian, unburdened of the weight of a body that had never felt right. When the spell finished its working she had become a Fae, with eyes as sharp and hands as dextrous as any artisan could wish for. Not only that, but her wings had been magically painted with the kind of designs Rinzu loved: Kagerou and Kujaku must have picked the accent out especially for her. Eventually Rinzu's smaller size and insect-catching diet led her to notice a resource of Komorebi's territory that the others had missed. The jungle's moths and spiders produced silk, which she was uniquely able to cultivate, spin, and weave into garments of incredible fineness. Relationships: She has a strong bond with Mori, who has seen her at her most vulnerable and hopeless. Spends a lot of time with Kagerou researching the latest trends to pursue with her garment-making, and repaid Kujaku for her painted wings by giving the Skydancer silks in a matching shade. Familiar: Dappled-Light. Rinzu frequently grooms her to collect unicorn dust, a valuable material in the creation of light, floating fabrics. |
