Dewey

Dewey came into the clan in a very unconventional way- a crash landing. Her family was nomadic, and never stayed in one place very long. Unfortunately, the last place they all stayed was accidentally in the boundaries of a very aggressive clan. They were awoken with a start, being ambushed by the clan. In an instant she heard her parents yelling to scatter and fly as fast as everyone could. Dewey took off, heart racing, full of fear, not looking back. When she thought she was in the clear she stopped in mid-air and turned, only to be hit head on by an all black ridgeback. The two tumbled to the ground, Dewey doing what she could. But she had never been trained to fight, so her opponent had the advantage. In an instant she was driven into the ground, the sound of her wings being crushed beneath her filling her ears.

She laid still and closed her eyes, succumbing to her fate at the hand of this foe. But instead of the feeling of claws, the weight was lifted from her. The sounds of a fight filled her ears, but still she did not stir for fear of these new foes. Only when a soft muzzle touched her own did she awake to see a tundra, two gaurdians and an imperial standing over her. The tundra, and after a few months her future mate, inspected her. He said words that she could not hear, and she slowly slipped into unconsciousness.

When she awoke, which was a surprise in itself, Shikamaru was by her side. He informed her that the fall had permanently damaged her wings and she would likely never fly again, but she was welcome to stay with clan. He also said, regardless of her decision, there was a dragon in the clan who was an expert at building technological items, and he had offered to build her wing prosthesis so she could at the very least move her wings.

She accepted both offers, and despite never having known a single home she was happy to settle down. The clan's mage, Ferdinand, revealed to her after some weeks that he was told of her distress by the spirits, and immediately told the clan leaders who ran to her aid. The two became closer, and soon Ferdinand invited Dewey into his den permanently.

They had two offspring together, but after discovering Ferdinand's discomfort with the idea she never asked for more in the future. But she was definitely not one to hide her excitement when Ferdinand came home with little Nova, and Dewey knew she had a child that would stay with the clan for a long time.
