CHAI
Chai is definitely a product of his environment. While his youngest days were spent with his parents, he was purchased at a fair price the moment Attevan laid eyes on him - he knew exactly what he wanted in a personal servant.

Chai has been trained in the art of the tea ceremony, and is frequently called upon to perform it for the impression it will make on guests. He elegantly serves them tea with much demurement and charm. Though he is on display much of the time as an example, Attevan is in fact fiercely jealous of his time and company.

Chai has learned to carefully manipulate Attevan, to keep his own situation as nice as possible. In the absence of any real affection, he has learned to enjoy his lavish gifts and position of relative power over the other slaves.He is not, however, cruel.

Though Chai is playing a game most of the time, he usually will manipulate a situation for overall good - if he witnesses a slave that is particularly brutal or unkind to the others, he makes it a point to be seen in that slave's company, chatting and flirting. The results are swift and furious, and the target learns two lessons: One, Chai's charms can be quite poisonous, and Two, don't get in Attevan's way.
