Biography
DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH
heavy is the head that wears the crown
heavy is the head that wears the crown
Coronis knew she was royalty from the day she hatched, and didn’t waste any time letting everyone else know it. Bold and brash, she saw no reason everyone shouldn’t follow her orders. Even in childhood, Coronis was the boss of half a dozen weaker-willed hatchlings. And if someone questioned her authority? She had the strength to knock them down a peg or two. She and her siblings had never backed down from a little roughhousing. Play wasn’t fun unless someone ended up with light bruises. She had even gotten in serious trouble once after head-butting a playmate. He had run crying back home, and she got the lecture of a lifetime from his mother. She had barely touched the poor wimp! Coronis’ aggression may have started right out of the nest, but it really blossomed in adolescence. She was the epitome of the rebellious teen. Her own sense of fun always took the highest priority, and adult disapproval only encouraged her. She and a gang of friends would roam from place to place, doing what they thought of as ‘fun’. They would pick fights, get into trouble with peacekeeping authorities, then fight the peacekeepers. Nothing quite beat the thrill of narrow escape, the pleasure of destruction. She developed a sharp wit to match her sharp claws. The best way she knew to test a person’s character was make fun of them (the fact that mockery was entertaining was an added bonus). The weak-willed and submissive would shrink immediately, wilting. Those that got hysterically angry weren’t any better. Anyone that threw a tantrum over a few jokes was clearly fragile. The best were the dragons that would shake off her insults like water, and match her jokes in return, wit for wit. No one else was worth her company. She had friends (and about as many frenemies), but never settled down with anyone as a partner. She knew she was beautiful- she saw the way heads turned when she entered the room, and plenty of dragons had tried to flirt with her. But she had seen couples that “completed” one another, and wanted nothing to do with it. She was complete all on her own. It was this strong sense of her own self-worth that put her at the head of the clan. She charmed them with her beauty, she cut them down with her wit, she humbled them by her strength. She had no doubts of her own value- it was completely obvious to her that she should be the leader, so she moved forward until she succeeded. After all, who on earth could stop her? - by Vilte seperate art below |
