There were many rumors surrounding Morrigan's hatching--that her egg had been stolen, that an attack had left her egg the only surviving thing for miles, that her parents had abandoned her, having foreseen what their daughter was to become...none of which the Skydancer would confirm nor deny. She was not much one for words, and preferred to stay by herself and her studies.

Her studies were the problem, for unlike many blessed with Magic within, she was not content on healing with herbs or whatever others preferred to do; her Spellwork was of a darker, dangerous kind, one that labelled her as an outcast to the rest of Dragonkind. Quite simply, Morrigan dealt in Shade-work--something seen as disgusting and unnatural to the majority of Sornieth--making her one of the few Warlocks (and one of the fewer still female Warlocks) that walked the world.

For a time, the female lived in a Fire clan of the Great Furnace, known as Sgail Lasair, where she specialized in the particularly dangerous strain of Magic known as "Breed Changing," among performing other rituals. While many of Sgail Lasair did go to Morrigan for such things, most of her clanmates gave her a wide berth--as if even looking at her would cause some misfortune to befall them.

One of them, however, the clan's Witch, Samuela, did not seem to fear her at all, for which Morrigan was quietly grateful. She would often catch the Fae watching her perform rituals, and, after a time, Morrigan invited Samuela to join her, suggesting that she would learn better working alongside her.

To her pleasure, Samuela agreed.

And so,the Skydancer taught her all that she knew, and Samuela took to it like a fish took to water. Soon, Morrigan knew, Samuela would be ready to stand on her own and perform her own rituals. It was around this point that she started wandering if her own time at Sgail Lasair was drawing to a close.

For a time, Sgail Lasair had two Warlocks, but as time went on, Morrigan came to the conclusion that two Warlocks was one too many…it was time to leave the clan—and the Ashfall Wastes—behind her forever.

Bidding goodbye to her clan mates and good luck to Samuela, the female went on her way. She had heard stories of a Water Flight clan named Lamaris, that was supposed to be allied with Sgail Lasair. Figuring that the Sea would be a nice change of pace, it was no wonder that she decided to make that her destination.

Her arrival was mixed. Vervada and Glaecys, whom had both been members of Sgail Lasair, were not pleased to see their former Warlock clanmate “lurking” (in their words) around their new home. Others did not know how to react to one that drew her power and Magic from the Shade, but they were quite clearly uncomfortable with it.

However, Morrigan was not easily deterred, and managed to sway the clans leaders, Myrra and Aegarys, into understanding how useful keeping her around could be.

...Unfortunately, this did not help better the clan’s opinion of her, as many believed that she used “Shade Magic” to deceive them.

The quiet female was used to such whisperings, so she paid them no mind. And after all, she knew from experience that no matter what they said about her, those of Lamaris would come to realize just how much they needed her.
