Born in the eternal night of the Hewn City, Einlaes comes from a somber heritage. The Bone Court undertakers view their duties with the utmost gravity and sincerity, and the Gatekeepers protect them.

Gatekeeper children are extended the courtesy of the Court, but do not know their ways.

Einlaes was born to the Gatekeepers of the Bone Court, a single egg in a lonely nest hidden in the shadows of the Hewn City. The shadows guard the child, its markings mimicking the moonlight across the fallen columns and the strewn rubble.

Maybe it was genetic mishap, maybe it was the dark forces that lie cold and hidden in the Hewn City. The hatchling was born with one eye, bright and yellow. Growing up, she found a glass replacement for the socket and found small pleasure in a way to adorn herself that no other dragon had.

The Gatekeepers are busy dragons. Not that Cyneweard cannot guard the Court on his own, but if a child does not stay with the Court's caretaker then they needs must find their own entertainment. Einlaes explored the dark city all on its own, imagining great civilizations and battles fought. Now she seeks a home and companions, somebody to call her own.
