Born in the peaceful lands of the Windswept Plateau, Topaz was the daughter of a noble warrior. She had a very comfortable childhood, being rather wealthy and surrounded by her loving siblings. However, Topaz eventually realised that she did not feel quite at home in Wind. As fond as she was of the calming breeze, Topaz felt like she needed a change of scenery - something new.

The concept of Wind's traditional rite of passage was very simple. Topaz only needed to climb through the Reedcleft Ascent and then make her way through the Twisting Crescendo. Dragons rarely returned, so this Flight custom was very rare nowaways. Topaz insisted on experiencing it. She happily left to complete it once she had become of age. It was a difficult journey and Topaz went through many hardships, but she reached the Cloudsong. As she looked up at the floating arrays of kites and platforms above her, she became aware of the fact that she did not feel any different: her thirst for adventure still remained.

Topaz sent a scroll back to her Clan, assuring them that she was fine and would be departing from the Cloudsong soon, as she would be leaving to explore. Many illustrations of the other flights' terrains had been featured in the books she had read when she had been a young hatchling, and they all seemed wonderful. The rocky mountains and frigid snow of Ice had looked particularly interesting...

After taking just one look around, Topaz knew the Southern Icefield was where she belonged. The desolate frost was fascinating yet demanding. Making her home in such a place would be difficult, but it would be very rewarding. She trudged on in an attempt to find a suitable area to settle down in. This was how she met her mate, Zuriel, who had been lying unconscious and bleeding in the gleaming field of floes near her. The pair continued and were joined by several other dragons on the way, most of whom were looking for a place to stay, too. They finally found a satisfactory piece of territory between the Cloudscrape Crags and Snowsquall Tundra, where she was urged to found a clan of her own by her newfound companions. Topaz reluctantly accepted, and named it the Crystalfall Kingdom.

Unlike other Skydancers, Topaz has always been quite independent and introverted, so being a proper ruler felt quite unusual at first. However, her species' ability of reading emotions and energy, along with the support from her loyal Clanmates, helped her feel more at ease. Topaz has loved reading for as long as she could remember, especially stories about foreign lands and territories. Her Clan's culture is very diverse because of it - many of the ideas she has introduced have been inspired by novels and other works she had found intriguing. Topaz can also be found sharing her thoughts with Gormlaith, her familiar, or chatting with Eliana or Zuriel.
