Secretary, Spy

While Pryntsesa was out hunting for a midnight snack, this curious hatchling Nocturne began prowling behind her, breaking twigs and making too much noise to hunt anything. Usually a social species, this Nocturne seemed to have gotten lost from its lair and family.

When Pryntsesa got home, she went straight to the kitchen, baby Nocturne in tow.

"I thought you were out looking for pheasant," Teflon quipped.

"I don't know what you're talking about," Pryntsesa said. "I went looking for a pheasant and I found one. Pheasant and I would like some food now. And be quick. We're both starving."

Pheasant chirped in agreement.

Pryntsesa paced around Greyscale's room, lashing her tail. She wasn't one to ask for help, but this was an emergency and she knew Greyscale would stay quiet about it.

"Why is Pheasant dressing like me?" she snarled.

"She has imprinted on you, mistress. Nocturnes... are like that."

"You mean she's going to be like this forever?"

"Not unless you remove her from the lair."

Pryntsesa considered it. She clicked her teeth together. "No. Hodor would be furious if I did that."

"i'm afraid you'll just have to endure it, mistress. Think of her as your shadow."

"She's too kind to replace Dukh, Greyscale."

"There are other uses for a kind spy, mistress. Dukh was not loyal to you. Pheasant is."

"That remains to be seen."
