Hailing from a colony in the Sundial Sector, Joan wasn’t really one for fooling around, even as a hatchling. She frequently got into scraps as she was growing up, which gave her a minor reputation of being a troublemaker; the truth, however, was that she only “picked a fight” when she witnessed something that she perceived as an injustice, such as a younger hatchling getting bullied by older ones.

Her ship, the Sunchaser, is an Aquila-class frigate. Aquila frigates are small, fast, and have sensory systems specialized for detecting other ships and fast-moving objects; however, due to their size and the requirement of their speed, they're unable to carry heavy loads. They're used primarily by the military branch of the Light fleet as scouts and first responders, picking out targets for larger, more heavily-armed ships to take out during battle, and helping to locate victims and mark them for pick-up/evacuation during search and rescues.
