xxxxxxxxxxxx "It's a wonder you haven't been caught."

She paused, hands hovering over her latest experiment, and she scowled at him. "I'm perfectly capable of acting on my own," she told him with an imperious tilt of her head, that glint in her eyes that said he'd overstepped. But he just shrugged, sidestepped her as he wandered past to his corner of their den, shoving aside hanging flowers.

"You are," he agreed, "but passion makes you sloppy." It made her more things too. Frantic, overzealous, delusional, just to name a few. Sloppy was without a doubt the least of her worries, yet it was the most of his. "You barely stopped to hide the last body before leaping to this one." It probably didn't help his mood that he still had the stink stuck in his nose after he'd literally tripped over the stupid thing, Idlin having not even bothered to toss it more than a foot outside their door and cover it with a few sheets of paper. As if that somehow made the whole thing less noticeable.

Sometimes he wondered if he was the only one with sense in this household. Though considering Idlin's frazzled expression, her hands shaking from no doubt hypoglycemia, maybe he was.

The right thing to do would be to offer her food right about now, maybe some water, or even a break for just a few minutes. Tell her that that was enough for the day, and she could pick up again tomorrow. He opened his mouth and said, "I'm going for more flowers."

She didn't respond, already lost to her world of research and muttered ramblings. Maybe he'd bring back some roses this time. Their lair could do with something sweet. And something he could put in her bed.

Idlin

P e r s o n a l i t y
Mogaba is incredibly passive aggressive. It's actually insane. He never outright tells Idlin what bothers him, and she's completely oblivious to how much he hates his job (Though considering she doesn't even remember hiring in the first place, maybe that's understandable). Instead, Mogaba constantly messes her stuff up purposely. Oh, he wasn't supposed to touch her very important project? Oops. Should've told him sooner. What's that? He should bring her something in an hour? Okay. That's fine. He'll just be back in two weeks.

His favorite way to get her back is by putting annoying stuff in her bed. Itchy feathers, thorns, brambles, the occasional squid. The list goes on and on. It probably doesn't help that Idlin never reacts aside from a cursory question ("I found a squid in my bed," she mentioned over breakfast the next morning, offhandedly and not concerned whatsoever. "Isn't that odd?" she mused. "I wonder where it came from. Though I suppose I can use it in my next experiment." Mogaba never bothered to answer her. Not that she even cared if he said anything.)

In between grudgingly cleaning up after Idlin and waiting on her hand and foot, Mogaba spends time researching ways to get the smell out of their lair. So far, he hasn't come across any long-term solutions (aside from getting Idlin to stop all her bad habits), so he has to settle with lesser ways like using flowers or candles or holding his breath for as long as possible. On the bright side, Celozon's always willing to give him fresh flowers.

Mogaba was born and raised in Shadow, but spent most of his life travelling. It wasn't so much that he disliked living here, it was more so that he was sick of everyone in this stupid clan. Mostly because everyone around here seemed to live off of rumors. C'mon, really? There was some weird conspiracy theory going around that he was the child of Tanithe and Zhora (Zhora's first response, when asked, was, "That's disgusting. Tanithe and me? No."), but that they gave him up for the clan to raise. But Mogaba can say with absolute certainty that no, Tanithe and Zhora weren't his parents, and no, he wasn't going to get involved in the betting pool, thank you very much.

So, sick of dealing with all these fools, Mogaba traveled. He ended up coming across Idlin during his expedition to Ice, which she'd apparently settled in because the remote ice caps was the perfect place to hide her research. He offered to do a few jobs here and there for some money so he could move on, and Idlin readily agree. Except she never paid him. A day's work turned into a week's turned into a month's, and Mogaba waited patiently for her to give him his due. And she never did. Which, first of all, was rude. And second of all, what the heck. So Mogaba started messing up his jobs, and she didn't care. She just complained to him for a few minutes about "How many times do I have to tell you not to touch my things?" before she went back to work. Seriously. By this point, Mogaba had spent so much time around her, that he was going to get his money one way or another, and if that meant sticking to her like glue and making her life miserable, then so be it.

After a while, Mogaba ended up encouraging Idlin to return to Shadow mostly because he figured if anyone could get her to cough up some dough, it'd be this band of murderers and thieves. Except the clan had changed since he'd been gone, and—despite there still being murderers and thieves—it seemed most of them were uninterested in business that didn't directly concern them. Considering he was now broke and his only income wasn't even paying him, he couldn't even afford any mercenaries.

Mogaba is forever waiting patiently until the day he gets his paycheck. Or rather, impatiently.

M i s c e l l a n e o u s
Mogaba is Idlin's unwilling assistant. He'd meant to do one job and be gone, but one job turned into two which turned into twenty, and now he's spiteful and bitter and this dragon better give him his paycheck or else. It's really not a healthy living or working environment, and it's a wonder how he hasn't keeled over by stress or illness by now.

He doesn't like other dragons, mostly because he finds them all dull and worthless, and other people find him annoying and baffling. So really, no one likes him, and he doesn't like them. And everyone's perfectly okay with that.

Mogaba splits his time in between the shared den with Idlin (Room and board was included in his employment contract, so at least she's holding up that side of the bargain), but because there's only so much time he can spend around Idlin before she drives him insane, he usually sleeps elsewhere. Sometimes in a tavern, sometimes crashing at a friend's place, and more often than not, sleeping outside. It's gotten to the point that other dragons don't even blink twice when they see him pitching up a tent nearby.
