Though Storm was born and raised among the hollow mesas and tangled cables of the Shifting Expanse, her parents were foreigners, hailing from the Starfall Isles and the Sunbeam Ruins. From her mother, whom she was closer to, she learned poise and manners, adopting them early into her life and quickly leaving behind what she considered the immature antics of other hatchlings. From both parents, however, she inherited the desire for knowledge and understanding, a desire which hummed as strongly as the magic she absorbed from the surrounding desert. It wasn't much of a surprise to any of her family, then, when she chose to become an engineer. Once she had learned all she could from the small library and few technicians her birth clan had to offer, she set out on her own, traveling from clan to clan, and even studying the metallic web of the Lightning Farm itself, in her quest to know as much about it as she could. It was during this journey that she ended up stumbling across Clan Scatterspark; upon learning that they didn't have a proper engineer, she decided that it was time to start implementing what she had learned, and officially joined the clan to become the chief engineer. Storm is almost completely dedicated to her work, and it shows in both the quality of her results and her demeanor. To the casual observer it would seem as if she only has two "modes;" either completely engrossed in her work to the point of missing almost everything that goes on around her, or reacting in a very irritated manner to the antics of her sillier clanmates. However, those who know her better agree that despite her stern nature, she has grown to care for the clan that she now calls home, despite her bouts of impatience, and will do everything in her power to protect that lair and all the dragons who reside in it. |
