Sleeping At Last - "Saturn"

Calpernia is one of the head arcane researchers in the main library, She can carve a perfect set of runes, quote the history of archanology perfectly, and maybe if propted recite the Arcanists morning routine in the form of a haiku. However, due to being form a fire clan, she cannot do use the spells she has spent ages memorizing.

Calpernia grew up in a small fire clan on the outskirts of Blacksand Annex, her parents Kept a small smithery and her sisters sold what they made. From a young age Calpernia showed interest in studying, and although it wasn't their expectation, Carpernia's parents encouraged her in her studies. When she grew up, Calpernia met a young mage on their way to Light territory, and from them she heard of the Lintu clan and it's libraries and skilled researchers and soon decided she wanted to leave to study in the clan.

One of Calpernia's theories on planet movement caught a lead archanologist's eye and she was very quickly given a place within the researchers, she struggles with the fact she needs others to help with her research since she cannot use arcane magic herself and sometimes gets really upset over it. When Calpernia is sad or needs encouragement she usually talks to Frida, her deadpan humor and honesty make Calpernia smile and she feels the most relaxed around the shadowy dragon. Frida is a very important person to Calpernia and she has feelings towards her.
