*What a rare treat for you to be traveling into the Shattered Plain. Yet the bare and dry land was harsh as ever to those without a clue of how to survive out here. You soon see a pearlcatcher alone under the shade of a rock formation, waiting for something. Curious, you came over and asked what is going on. He looked at you with a weary eye, but didn't move from his spot.* Me? I'm just waiting to see if Arsenic was going to come by today. Have you seen a wildclaw on your travel?

*You shake your head, knowing that you can't lie.* Well, drat. I guess I'll wait a little longer before I go back home. I've been getting a little impatient with a problem I have...*A crop cutter crawled near the pearlcatcher, only to be noticed and squished by his claws. He wiped the bug guts off with a cloth he brought with him.* And that problem is bugs. Name's Mangano. You are?

*You told him your name and then mentioned that if he hated bugs, then he should just eat them. He cringed at the thought, looking nauseated.* I wouldn't be able to stomach that, Traveler. My problem with them is so bad that the only way I can eat bugs without regurgitating is soylant yellows. *That sounded like an alarm bell to you. You asked how that happened.* Well...I was picked on by another hatchling and got shoved onto some fire ants when I was little. *You were in shock at what you just heard; Those ants are very dangerous to dragons, especially hatchlings or the smaller dragons.*

I was rescued, but mentally scarred for life while that bully got punished for his behavior...They fed me all of his portions of raspberry snacks for three days. *Sounds reasonable. Hatchlings in these parts loves raspberries like candy if they eat plants.* It was a nightmare to the adults just to feed me bugs until Arsenic introduced me to the yellow substitute. Since then, I've become interested in alchemy and I usually have to beg that wildclaw to collect the ingredients for soylent yellows. Speaking of which...I ran out of them this morning, which is a bit of trouble for me.

*That would explain why he's out here waiting...Poor guy. You pulled out the soylent yellows you keep with you for emergency rations and passed them over to Mangano. He looked stunned at your gesture.* That does save me some agony. Would you care for an invite to meet my clan?

*You were happy to oblige to the offer. As he went ahead to lead the way, you looked back at the dead crop cutter and just put its remains in your mouth before Mangano could ever notice. Not your first time surviving out here; good food shouldn't go to waste.*
