Biography

This is Celeste. She's been around the wind clan through all her life, and now she wants to see the world. She loves the chill from the wind, so let her spread her wings and fly freely. That's how she always wanted to live, so let's give her a chance to do it.

Uh-oh, looks like this sky colored dragon wandered a little too far from her lair 32921, Lunadora, and now she's off to see the world! If ever you feel the urge to exalt, she'd really appreciate it if you could just return her home instead, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here.

Celeste felt the need to travel. She needed to see the world. So one day, she simply... took off. She didn't know where she was going, and she didn't really care. She was free to do as she pleased.

Finally, after three straight days of flying, fatigue got the best of her. She landed, finding her way to an Earth lair, and simply collapsed of exhaustion. When she woke up, she found herself surrounded by concerned dragons. She quickly sat up, insisting she was fine, but everybody soon found out that wasn't the truth. Celeste didn't really feel very well, and soon discovered she had caught some sort of illness. She had a fever, and the clan insisted she didn't leave until she recovered. So she did stay. For quite a bit longer than she had intended, really.

She made a quick recovery, and was itching to get back to the sky, but something made her stay. The wildclaw felt so peaceful and oddly at home among these dragons. So she stayed a bit longer. She told them many stories. Of the wind, of the sky, of all the things she had seen and heard. And she listened to the things they had to say. Some of them were also travelers. It was nice hearing about their travels and experiences, as well.

One night, after telling yet another story to the clan, a guardian named Maui approached her. He began asking her questions. So many questions. About the sky, about her wind home. About everything, really. She patiently answered as many as she could tolerate. It was obvious this guardian had never flown, which she found impressively strange. So she said to him "If you want to know so much about the sky, then let us simply go to the sky! We will travel at daybreak tomorrow!" And that was the end of the discussion. She met him at sunrise the next day. He seemed nervous, but with her encouragement, Maui was quickly flying. He wasn't a very good flyer, but that would change soon enough. Celeste flew off, with Maui in pursuit. She would do all sorts of loops around to make sure he could keep up. Which he did rather well for someone who had lived all his life in the sea.

---

The pair traveled for a ways. They didn't stay anywhere very long. They had a lot of fun together on their journey. But sadly, all good things come to an end. A storm blew in as they were traveling. The pair became separated. Maui was carried into the sky, and Celeste was blown into the sea and swallowed by the tide. She was certain when she was losing consciousness that this was it. She would never return to the sky she loved so dearly. A splash of color coming in after her was the last thing she saw. She awoke a while later. She never did find out how long. When she opened her eyes, there was a black and orange ridgeback staring back down at her. She was surprised when she realized she recognized him. He was from the clan she had been staying with when she first met Maui. She sat up and almost immediately fell back over, but the ridgeback caught her. She spat up a bit of water.
"Are you the one who saved me?" she asked, staring up at the ridgeback.
"Yeah, unfortunately. I happened to be out hunting, and I saw you fall in. You didn't seem to be coming back out, and I couldn't just leave you to drown. I hate the water, but I'm a good swimmer, even in a storm. So I managed to pull you back up with me."
"Well, thank you. Thanks a lot, really. What was your name again?"
"Rasputin. You were Celeste, right?" She nodded. "Why don't you come stay at our lair again for a bit. You certainly don't seem in any condition to be flying right now."
She attempted to get up with his help, and found it rather difficult. She was sore all over. "I'm sorry, I don't know if I can make it that far," said the exhausted wildclaw.
"It's alright. You're puny. I can carry you." He helped her onto his back. "It's fine," he added when she opened her mouth to speak. He took off, Celeste making sure to keep herself steady on his back. She felt lightheaded, but the wind on her face made her feel a bit better. She stretched her wings out a bit only to feel a sharp pain in one of them. She looked at it as they traveled. It was injured. Would she be able to fly? It didn't seem broken, though. She'd have to rest and have it looked at when they reached the clan. But even with the refreshing breeze, she soon found herself falling asleep on his back.

---

She woke up and found herself back in the clan some time later. Somebody had obviously looked her over, as she was now wearing bandages. Celeste carefully pushed herself up and looked around. She was in a more sheltered part of the cave. A little ways off, she spotted a few nests. She was partially separated from them. She must've been near the nursery. It would be more peaceful and quiet there. She was still sore, but she got up and moved to the main room. She recognized so many of the dragons, but there were a few new ones, too. She walked to one of the dragons. "Excuse me, but where's Rasputin? I-I wanted to thank him for saving me," she added after a slightly questioning look from the dragon.
"I'm not entirely certain, but I think he's off hunting. He often does with Blair and Colchian. They're the only ones strong enough to hunt things effectively."
"Oh, well, that's alright," she lied, trying to hide her disappointment. She had been hoping to be able to talk with him a bit more. He was so nice. Ridgebacks normally loathed water, but he dived in to save her.
"He'll probably be back some time soon. You can speak with him then," the little dragon said cheerily.
"Alright, thank you." She walked off.
---
After several days, she still didn't get a chance to talk to him. He always seemed busy. She learned of a clan that all these dragons were very familiar with. Several had stayed there to tend nests. With one last look at the lair, she followed a couple to go meet these dragons, and began her journey underwater. It was strange. She had never been to a water lair before. Oddly, she didn't have any trouble breathing, despite her expectations.
