I'm not evil to the core.

It's not like she planned to end up here, not by a long shot. She had arrived with the goal of conquest, of takeover and power over others that dwelled within the city, she'd expected them to fall and accept her as a leader, but now- well, in some ways, it is her city, but not to own. Enadisir's dreams of conquest fell with her defeat but she was not turned away, not shunned or slaughtered for her attempts to rule, instead, she was given a job, a role in a place she had once seen only fit for destruction.

What I shouldn't do I will fight.

She's become a security system of sorts, a red-eyed scourge on any threat that may come to the city. Her wings are strong and her claws are wicked, her homeland prides itself on survival and Enadisir prides herself on much the same, though perhaps her pride stems from being predatory, being dangerous enough to make those who may attack the dragons who share her home think twice about springing an attack. Plague teaches survival, but the desire to fight for something, that gives rise to true power. Red capped spines aside, the ridgeback's mere attitude is enough to inspire a chill in someone's spine.

I know I'm emotional.

Of course, keeping up appearances is just as important to her as borrowing might be to her entire species. Enadisir is not soft or merciful, and she certainly doesn't do her work because she 'likes' anyone in the city, that's a fact she will firmly (And maybe a bit too quickly) deny. She does what she does for herself, and because its become a duty of sorts, not because she cares.

What I want to save I will try.

Protecting the city, no matter her reasons, seems to come naturally to the ridgeback. She's memorized the pathways through the city, shortcuts and easier places of access for someone of her size, even the most swift-winged fae is no match for the knowledge she has of every single aspect of the place she's sworn to protect. She's nearly impossible to escape within her domain, though perhaps if you're running from her in the first place, you should reconsider your choices.

I know who I truly am.

Enadisir has never lost sight of who she is. Despite her current place she calls home, conquest and power still boil over in her veins and heart, plague runs hot in her blood and some may question if her intentions are as good as they appear to be in protecting them, if she knows the whole city by heart, what's to stop her from making another attempt on it? She's reluctant to admit that, perhaps at least some fraction of her, maybe in the tip top of her tail, she has grown to like those who live in the city, at least enough that she'd never leave them without a bit of protection from those who may arrive in the city with ill intent.

Tomorrow I'll switch the beat, and avoid yesterday's dance.
