Sage was the first hatched of the original nine dragons. Her egg and the eggs of the other founders washed into the cave during a winter storm and hatched together in the early spring.
- Hatchling Biography
Sage was the biggest of the original nine at birth (by quite a lot) and has always been a bossy one. She liked telling the others what to do, especially if it ended in something dangerous and exciting. This typically led to Sage laughing as the others fell and hurt themselves. She was particularly fond of sticks and tended to carry them around and chew on them.
- Adolescent Biography
As she matured, Sage discovered that there was too much real danger in the world to get your only companions injured. She became much less sadistic, and much more protective of the others. Maybe it was the Guardian instinct kicking in, or maybe it was someone getting seriously hurt that made her change her mind. Either way, she took her commanding instinct and transformed it into a noble leadership, willing to brave any trial to protect her companions.
- Adult Biography
Sage's determination to protect her companions turned into a life-altering obsession. She feels responsible for the entire clan and has become more serious with age and trial. Every clan member has become her charge, which is a noble cause, for it is very hard for one dragon to protect many. The pressure sometimes gets to her, which is why she often seems stressed.
- Wing Injuries
On a routine visit through the Delta, Sage and two others from the clan were ambushed by a team of Greatshell. Although they survived and defeated their opponents, Sage sustained a crippling wound to her left wing. For over a year, she was unable to fly and spent her time with simple crafts and gathering. During this time, she was incredibly frustrated with her state and her inability to effectively protect the others. She fell far behind in her combat abilities, and wondered if she would ever catch up.
Although her wounds recovered, the permanent damage to her wings left her able to fly for only a minute or two at a time before having to rest.
