"But I knew that I was safe from there on out."

Maya is a friendly and rather talkative dragon. She likes to learn new things and is always the one who wants to know about the newest gossip. Having run a business and dealing with costumers made her a good talker and good with dealing with the shenanigans of the other dragons. She considers the other in the clan as her family and often functions as a mediator if there are any fights between the other dragons.

Once The group settles down and opens up the Carnival Maya puts up her tent and sells her magic services and spells. She runs the shop on her own until it is time to hit the road again.
Since her shop is little maintenance in terms of setting down and packing it back up she helps the other shopkeepers with their tents and stalls.
Her main task besides that is getting any stragglers back in line and making sure everybody is ready for their departure.

Maya learned magic and spells from a Witch resident in the Rotrock Rim. She was told she was brought there by her parents as a hatchling because they couldn't pay the Witch for her potions in any other way. Because Maya was so young when she came to live with the witch she has no idea of knowing if this is true nor does she want to know; she enjoyed magic from a young age and was the most talented and promising of the Witch's seven pupils. Though the rest of the pupils felt and knew that Maya was favoured by the Witch they didn't resent or hate her. They all were not interested in the magic that they were taught and were treated well by the Witch; they were grateful for what she did for them but had no plans on practising magic.

So when the Witch died the other pupils left the her hut while Maya was the only one to stay behind.
Magic was her profession and with the witch gone she took over her hut and costumers in the Rotrock Rim.
However, she soon noticed that the business as a witch was a tough one. Even though she knew most of the dragons she offered her services to through the time she was learning from the Witch the costumers were wary of her and thought she was too young to take over. Most dragons looked for other witches to make business with and the ones who stayed paid not enough or not at all.
Soon she was forced to abandon the hut due to being unable to maintain it anymore and thus lost all the remaining costumers and business she had.
She wandered through the Wyrmwound after that, offering her magic to the dragons she met and making her treasure with that although it was very little and was only barely enough for her to afford her ingredients for potions.

It was during one of her potion makings where she met the Carnival of Rust. The dragon she made the potion didn’t want to pay the full price for it and after an argument the dragon took of with the potion. After a full day of walking and magic Maya was too tired to try to chase him and began to gather her things when she noticed a commotion coming from the direction the dragon flew to. Her curiosity sparked and hoping for somebody in need for her magic she sought after the spot were the noises came from. What she found made her stop in her tracks; this was definitely not what she was expecting. She found the Imperial that stole her potion on the ground, Corduth sitting on top of him while the twins took turns throwing rocks at his face, Alvin standing next to them commenting on their throwing technique and Onikslen watching them in bemusement. Maya was too surprised to notice that while she arrived Karmil had taken the potion out of the Imperials claws and walked up to her while Maya had watched the scene unfold in silence. She was so impressed with this weird bunch of dragons that she promptly took up on Karmils offer and joined them.
