______ A severe brain injury has wiped this Spiral's memory. Found by the Scout Stratosphere stranded at the edge of the Cloudsong this Spiral's mind has been reverted back to the level of a Hatchling. Being unable to even fly properly under their own power the Spiral was carried back to the Lair and raised as if they were their own child. With no answers as to who the Spiral was before their accident they have started afresh and are slowly learning how to do more. They have stated when they get older they want to be a 'Scienteer' and have given themselves them name Science. They have been permitted a Lab Coat and Rubber Gloves but care must be taken regarding their tendency to put new things in their mouth. Currently they are learning basic chemistry; how mixing different colored syrups changes their colors and how adding vinegar to baking soda makes it bubble up. Visitors to the Lair sometimes mistake him for a much more competent dragon due to his habit of following the Lair's alchemists around.

______ Or so the official story goes. In truth this spiral is one of the Converted. The accident that killed them left the brain unrecoverable but a good Surgeon-mechanic doesn't let that discourage them. The artificial brain implanted in the spiral's skull is a learning programmed designed as an experiment to see if a dragon's personality can be mimicked by a machine. The device is programmed with a great curiosity to learn from other dragons but it's artificial nature means it often takes things in a strange direction. The Converted safeguard the spiral as it learns, monitoring it through a Sparkling Stinger Drone to see if, with time, it could ever flawlessly pass as alive. Science is aware of their plans for him. He has plans of his own. Most involve delicious cake. For now he waits and plays the part of the fool enough to ensure his continued existence, fearful of what would happen to him if he was to be discovered.
