Morda doesn't remember much about her parents. They were warm and affectionate with her in private. She was their first hatchling, so of course they were loving and open with her. Nothing about their names, what they looked like, or what the did for the clan remains in her memories, only their love. She knows from other clan members that her parents had died when they were attacked by a clamor of chillwind harpies. Help from the clan arrived too late. After that, she was passed around and communally cared for by the adults of the clan. She missed the love of her parents.
It was after this that she met up with Pyre and Evensong, who would both become her best friends. After meeting them she mostly spent time between their families who were at least warm with her because she was friends with their sons. It was those two who encouraged her love of crafting metal despite the fact it was difficult to acquire and was often made brittle by the cold. She enjoyed coming up with small machines or creating elaborate metal sculptures. The skydancer wasn't happy with her living situation, but she wasn't unhappy with it either. It wasn't until Pyre voiced the idea of making their own clan that she ever realistically thought about leaving. However the idea appealed to her and she was especially happy when they ended up in the Shifting Expanse allowing her to expand on her hobbies. She was even happy when they began receiving members, though a new bogsneak named Pascal got on her nerves at first. He eventually broke through her barriers and showed her his softer side and Pascal became her mate. |
