Leader; Lead Nest Guard; Strong in Heart and Bodyl

"I may have been abandoned, but I do not plan to ever do it to anyone else. Anyone who plans to do that to us will feel my claws."
Astraeus was abandoned as a youngling when his parents simply didn't want to deal with him. He was quickly taken in when Aquamarine found him. The safety and care he got from everyone in this Clan made him feel like he belonged. Something he wouldn't forget as long as he lived.
Proper to his kind, Astraeus had a natural drive to protect his Clanmates. More specifically, he always wanted to protect the Nesting Grounds. It may have stemmed from his own trauma of being abandoned, but no one stopped him. He was a gentle giant and always kept an eye out for everyone on the grounds. He began the new standard of the Clan on how to look out for others inside the Clan.
He has had a few loves during his lifetime, and each one he has no regrets in. Shiek was taken in as a hatchling just like him, and since they were accepted he felt close to her. When she agreed to be his mate, he was elated. He had a lot of kin with her and loved everything about her. Then tragedy would strike as he would lose her after she couldn't recover from a sickness. He was devastated, but in time he found a new love in Hopala. She was able to comfort him in a way he needed to stay strong for the rest of his kin. Soon enough they came to raise others of their own, but as soon as he got her, he lost her when she never returned from a patrol. Tealwing was his last mate who, though feisty, cares for him, his kin, and her own with a tender nature he found comfort in.
Astraeus wasn't sure if he wanted to be a father, but he always strived to be a reliable one. He has seen most all his kin move on from the Clan but this doesn't phase him. He knows they grew up with reliable parents in a safe place. He can feel at peace that he was better than his parents.
He serves the Clan now by keeping the Nesting Grounds guarded. Though, retired now he is there more to tell stories more then anything else.
