Though old, the entity's mind was sharp. Only a fool would think Feldspar was incapable of picking up on what the newcomer said.

Given the nature of distinct elements, multiple gods, and ever-lingering presence of magical properties and mana spikes--stating that the realm of Sornieth is home to many sentient races is an understatement. The world is full of wonders and amazing things found from the highest layer of the ozone to the bubbling molten core of the planet to the very observatories witnessing the heavens to even the tiniest, intricate bubbles that flicker to the surface and carry a thousand prophecies within.
The elements of Earth and Nature are more than enough to point out dragonkind's long-standing ties to the earth. Flora and fauna alike flourish best when the soils are nurtured and the stones treated with care. Respect goes a long way. For Feldspar--respect is not merely an act of courtesy or appreciation for the natural properties that allow life to thrive but respect is in of itself a choice, a lifestyle, and a desire to demonstrate understanding and compassion for others as one would himself.
That very fact is the reason the elemental being is so thoroughly embarrassed when one brings up the clan Pendulum around them; the name 'Pendulum' in of itself is not merely the part of the clock swinging side-to-side continuously but rather it is a stark, grim reminder of Feldspar's own humiliating defeat at the hands of the clan's Archmage Minerva.
What was initially a brief thousand-year nap became an unpleasant and abrupt awakening that led to Feldspar encountering Pendulum's residents. The drilling and magical spells imposed on his beautiful, radiant cliffs and the constant witness of tons of marble cleaved from the Beacon's natural cliffsides and thrown into the sea was more than enough to provoke Feldspar into a frenzy. Despite Feldspar being in their natural territory and wielding ancient magic the Archmage was able to overpower him and forced him to either admit defeat and leave peacefully or be executed on the spot. For the sake of Feldspar's beloved Beacon and the minerals that encompass it the elemental chose to accept defeat and swear allegiance to the banner of Pendulum.
The notion of working for individuals who defeated one in combat and trashed their homeland is not pretty. Despite Feldspar's typical slow consideration for varying issues and endeavors to hear multiple sides to a story before jumping to conclusions the elemental being is never not snappy on the topic of its defeat to Pendulum. They reside not as a willing member but as someone attempting to make the most out of circumstances. Their place of refuge, their dear cliffs, are held up primarily through the use of cryptic Pillar magic; the old element of Sornieth known as Pillar is their only consistent form of comfort in a world where they are far less a clan member opposed to a prisoner. They seek to one day witness the fall of Pendulum and restore the cliffs of the Beacon of Radiant Eye to their former glory.
