Biography

WIP

“Believe me, every heart has its secret sorrows, which the world knows not, and oftentimes we call a man cold, when he is only sad.”

–Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Hyperion
Toltecatl
Healer

Toltecatl hails from the Sunbeam Ruins. As a young dragon he spent most of his time delving though scrolls and ancient texts, learning to write and paint and draw. Healing was a natural gift, and he pursued it with vigor. Always a pleasant little dragon, and exceptionally generous with not a hint of that Coatl temper. As he grew he became a valuable member of his clan. Once grown, he found a beautiful mate and settled down to the quiet life of perfecting his craft and raising many beautiful hatchlings. It was a peaceful life, picturesque. A life any dragon might dream of.

He does not talk about the day that idyllic life was shattered.

Rynzin will tell you that he found the Coatl alone and half-dead on the boarder between the Scarred Wasteland and the Tangled Wood, calling weakly for someone, or something.
The first memories Toltecatl has of the Plague clan are of being nursed back to health, by a hatchling of all dragons. Most of the clan expected him to perish. Yet, against all odds, he pulled through. Most of him, that is.

Whatever quest had brought him to the Plagueland, changed him. Once he recovered Toltecatl chose to pursue that quest no farther. He stayed with the clan, listless and silent, but dutifully healing the many wounds and illnesses common in the Scarred Wasteland.

In time Toltecatl redeemed himself as a powerful mage and brilliant scholar. He serves as healer, and is well respected by the clan; though many consider him surly and standoffish. The few who know him better would call him guarded. His mate, Xiuhphilli, would tell you he is still heartsick.

He has settled, finally, into a simulacrum of his former life. Xiuhphilli is patient with him and his sudden fits of melancholy. There are hatchlings running about underfoot and there is always work to do, scrapes and battle wounds and frostbite to deal with. The wheel turns on.
