Way too curious for her own good Umbra got lost as a hatchling and somehow ended up in the fringes of Plaguebringer's domain, the Wandering Contagion. Of course her body's defenses were no match for her surroundings and she fell very sick in the shortest period of time. But she was lucky under the circumstances in so far, that she was found by Sutech and his mentor. Because of a recent trade agreement they recognized her clan token and decided to treat her sickness and sent a message to the Witch Queen rather than to keep her as a test subject. By the time her older brother Gremlin arrived to pick her up, Sutech was intrigued enough by the young Pearl and her sickness to accompany her back home with the consent of his mentor.
Umbra never strays far from her doctor's designated lair space and most clan members try to avoid her presence despite Sutech's repeated assurances of her not being contagious anymore. The sickness didn't just alter her body but also her mind and perception in strange ways. It's still not clear whether to honour her as a seer or pitty her for her growing madness.
