Blazing Star

Liatrus was born in a lighting clan many years ago in a clutch of five. She is the second hatch of the five, with only her guardian sister Lightning hatching before her. After her came a guardian brother, Wrath; a guardian sister; and another brother, a fae named Jupiter. While she doesn't keep in touch with her family regularly anymore, she knows her parents and Lightning and Wrath are all doing well, her parents still together in the clan she was born in and Lightning and Wrath pursuing lives in other clans. She hasn't heard from Jupiter in a long time, and her little sister broke off contact so long ago Liatrus is hard-pressed to remember her name. She thinks of them fondly from time to time and hopes they are doing well.

After her draclinghood Liatrus moved to a Plague clan where she spent most of her life as a scout. It was a job she enjoyed greatly, finding that the mix of responsibility and freedom in schedule fit her well. She liked spending great sweeps of time out in the territory, keeping a watch on the local flora and fauna and an eye on the borders. Eventually this lifestyle wore out its charm however, and Liatrus returned to the clan's heart with a new interest in mind; mechanics.

Perhaps all Lightning dragons are born with some interest in electricity; Liatrus had always had a quiet fondness for machinery and tools. She took up study under more experienced mechanics and engineers, where her small size came in handy for delicate jobs with small pieces and tools. After studying for so long she felt reasonably confident in her skills, as well as something new. Liatrus found herself wanting to leave Plague. She said goodbye to her friends and sent word to her children, now grown and living in other clans, and moved on.

It's asking too much for a fae traveling on her own to move far. Liatrus settled here, in wind. This clan was initially odd to her- she was the first engineer to ever live among them, and the use of electricity and mechanics was barely present. Despite this, or maybe because of it, Liatrus found it a great place to settle down. Although her presence didn't usher in an age of electricity and machines, Liatrus did find a place as a jack-of-all-trades mechanic. In order to interact with the outside world some mechanical things must be kept, and those needed someone to work on them. Liatrus manages the upkeep of any machines, works in newly gained mechanics into the clan, and teaches the clan members how to use them and maybe most importantly not to be scared of mechanical progress.

Liatrus is a friendly soul. Many hours spent alone may have suited her as a youth but now she greatly enjoys the company of others and can be frequently found in the clan's center chatting with anyone who's free. Most people are happy to talk to her as well, as Liatrus is polite and knows a good many interesting things. Liatrus also enjoys telling the draclings stories, whether they be real or myth, and occasionally in her free time builds them toys.

The name "Liatrus" comes from a genus of plants also called "blazing stars". Anyone who knows this fact will agree it suits Liatrus, a dragon who may have not done anything historical or amazing, but certainly lives her life exactly the way she chooses to. It can be rare to find someone with the courage and willpower to do just that.
