Hibiscus is a youthful florist, who fell in love with a Skydancer while visiting the Everbloom Gardens one day. The two remained in contact for months after he returning to the Starfall Isles, until he made the decision to move to Nature and take her as his mate - a proposal she accepted. However, upon his arrival he discovered that he was not the only male she was romancing, and upon confronting her was turned away with his gentle heart broken.

Before he decided what to do next, their clan was engulfed in Talonok conflict. Unable to leave the flowering Labyrinth he loved so deeply, Hibiscus joined the refugees and was adopted into Sideris-on-Riverbank as their official florist and lair decorator. He is much more humble compared to Kelissach, the other male Pearlcatcher in the clan, but his natural vanity nevertheless makes its appearance when his flowers are involved. He is proud of his work and aware of his skill, so he isn't shy to take credit for the lair's décor and relish the attention it brings. He also takes great care in his appearance, being especially known for trying new mane styles and accessories.

Rather than specialize in magical attacks like the standard Pearlcatcher, Hibiscus is much more reliant on close-quarters physical combat due to being born without much affinity for magic despite his element. He still practices combat movements and techniques several times a week, aware of his flaws and doing his best to improve. Thus he can often be seen on the training greens with the Wildclaws, sticking out like a sore thumb.
