Biography
(Note, while Stardust is generally active in the clan, his aloof personality & poor communication skills make him bad candidate for long-term roleplay. Generally, he is simply a background character in the clan & around only in backstories or to be used in casual reference.)
There is little to say about Stardust. Unlike the rest of the clan, he was born in the Star Wood Strand and has never left his ancestral home. Stardust was always an oddball, solitary dragon who struggled to stay with other dragon clans, but not for any glaring reasons. The Coatl simply enjoyed his personal solitude, where he could quietly enjoy himself in a forest glade somewhere far away from conflict. Why he ended up under the claw of such a vicious dragon such as Frenzy is a mystery to most, but Magus treats him as something of a sibling from another nest. Unusual to most Coatl, he is a rather quiet dragon and more often speaks in traditional draconic then the expected Coatl hum. He delights in collecting various fantasy novels and traveler's tales of dragons which have left the Star Wood Strand. However, while the brutal stories he has overheard from Frenzy delight him for their sense of adventure, he isn't brave enough to venture out into the nearby territories of Plague to see the "real" things.
Dulce, his mate, is a well-known attentive listener and her natural inclination to act as a mediator for the clan's problems allowed her to make a fast friendship with the Coatl long ago, though Stardust may insist that she is too good for him. Little does he realize how much she cares for him, and Dulce goes out of her way every day to make sure he has remembered to preen and take care of himself, since there are not any other Coatl in the clan that could help him take care of his feathers and it is easy to pick up all manner of leaves & bits of twigs in the Star Wood Strand. Despite the natural language-barrier between the pair, they get along as though Dulce herself were a Coatl, and the two have their own personal form of trilling and rumbling communication that only they may understand. As a result of this, his natural "Coatl voice" is changed and he hums unusually deeply, more akin to growling or purring of a Tundra than to the harmonious songs of the typical Coatl. It takes a lot of concentration for him to pitch and trill his humming to what is expected, and he speaks with a strange sort of "accent" to other Coatl as a result of this.
Stardust has a natural inclination towards crafting, like the Coatl smiths of the Ashfall Wastes and uses his talents with small tools to craft intricate jewelry twists when he has free time. Nearly every piece of small, fine jewelry in the clan was crafted by Stardust, although the shy Coatl would never boast about his skills. He wishes someday to create an artefact that would help a (one day) legendary hero, just like in his favorite books.
- Traits: Solitary, detail-oriented, kind, humble, cowardly, Quiet, crafts-dragon, studious, curious, educated, shy, bookworm.
- Notes: Regarded by other Coatls as untrustworthy, unusual and strange, he has difficulty communicating with Coatls, as he has not sang with other Coatl in some time and has picked up some quirks of "singing" with Dulce. Some Coatl may also regard his coloration is ugly or sickly as his wings are pale and untidy.
