There was no respite for volcanic hearts.


She awoke to a deep rumbling, the pictures in her mind arising and beginning to breathe. As all the gods in all the worlds began to collide, she felt the fire in her veins give life. She moved and breathed, smoke beginning to pour from her nose. As she raised her gigantic head, the woods around her shivered from her fire. All things must burn so that life will be renewed, and this is her purpose. Great Redwoods that stood in the Labyrinth were, as all trees, beset by disease and old age at times. Her great tail swept all clean, as was Flamecaller's duty to her.

Yet there were days when her agony of flesh and bone moved her deeply, and her heart, her warm beating heart, craved warmth against her crumbling, magmatic flesh. The blue sky above beckoned so much more. It was the color she could not see. Her world was tinged in it. The behemoth did as she was called, and slept when her time was done.

There was no respite for volcanic hearts.
