SMOKE OF THE FIRE

| Preferred Title | General Sootjaw
| Magic | Sootjaw barely has any Fire magic; the only ability she has is producing smoke. She has no control over it, but it usually happens when her emotions and stress levels are high. Her eyes are palest peach.
| Religion | She feels like her abilities are more aligned with Shadow, and she wonders why Flamecaller didn't make her more connected to her element.
| Appearance | Sootjaw is a heavyset, muscular Wildclaw with a large wingspan. Her clothes are almost always slightly sooty and smell like smoke.
| Personality | Like many Fire dragons, Sootjaw is passionate. While she is a loner by force of habit, those she's close to are very important to her. She has a short fuse and a hot temper, but luckily she's also quick to cool down.
She's a goal-oriented dragon who isn't afraid to get dirty. A strong believer in "if you want it done right, do it yourself" and as such has trouble with teamwork. Through her work on the Council she is slowly becoming used to cooperation, although she usually hangs on the fringes of groups. Leadership is unfamiliar to her, but she's not the type to back down.
| History | Sootjaw came about from an illegitimate pairing which resulted in her mother abandoning the nest. When Sootjaw hatched, smoke poured out of her mouth like a fountain. Her father was thrilled, certain this meant his daughter had powerful magic, and the clan would accept her despite her illegitimacy. Eagerly he waited for her to develop amazing skills, but as she missed milestone after milestone, her father knew something was wrong.
Due to her inability to control her single ability, Sootjaw was bullied by other hatchlings. Her name, once an omen of her power, became a joke. When it was clear her skills weren't ever going to develop, suggestions of exaltation began to trickle in from teachers and clergy. It wasn't until her father began to agree that Sootjaw realized she needed to leave the clan.
She travelled for what seemed like forever, following directions to a clan that took in the hopeless and lost. When she arrived General Prima swooped down immediately and inducted the Wildclaw into the military. Through her training Sootjaw realized her potential in physical fighting. She became an honored warrior and member of the Council.
When General Prima staged a coup and was run out of the clan, Sootjaw didn't hesitate to stand up to the plate. She felt strong through support from the clan to fix the Polaris Society's shattered military.
