The highly respected warrior of the Clan of Plymenden, Nalani is brave and never runs from an honorable fight.

Abandoned by her birth clan in the Scarred Wasteland as a hatchling, she was found by members of the Plymenden clan. Despite the rule of no mirrors in the clan, set in place by then clan leader Erebus, they could not leave a helpless hatchling in the middle of nowhere. Erebus was furious; how could his own clan members disobey him? How could they dare to even think they can bring a mirror into the presence of the clan?

The clan members pleaded with their leader to let her stay. It would be cruel of them to not allow her shelter. Erebus eventually reluctantly obliged, but with one condition: she would only stay in the clan until she was fully grown. Then, she was to leave.

Nalani's childhood in the clan of Stardust would have been painful and lonely, had she have not been so naive. She was the only mirror in the clan, other than Erebus, and this frightened the other hatchlings. She did not realize her mere presence made the other dragons uncomfortable. This changed when a few adult dragons decided they were sick and tired of their leader's arrogance, and in rebellion, made friends with the young mirror. They taught the hatchlings to be accepting of all dragon species, even those that were scary looking. Eventually Nalani made some best friends growing up.

Seeing how Erebus was the only other mirror in the clan, she desperately wanted to be his friend as well. Erebus ignored her, of course. He came close to even kicking her away sometimes, but clinged on to the little self-control he had to not hurt a child. He found her irritating, but did not want to make the situation worse, so he tried to ignore her as much as possible. Nalani could not see why he didn't want to play with her like the other adults. Why did he hate mirrors so much? He is a mirror too...

When Nalani grew up, everything changed. She became a fearful warrior and protected the clan against dangers constantly, and this was something that Erebus admired. Instead of kicking her out right away, he saw her being of great use to the clan. Over time, Erebus began to notice how beautiful she was, and how much he liked to be with her. Eventually, without even knowing it, he fell in love with Nalani. She didn't even know it herself, but she had fallen in love with him as well.

When they confessed their love for each other, Nalani became the matriarch of the clan, and Erebus made sure to get rid of the "no mirrors" rule. However, Nalani came close to leaving him several times, because his thirst for power became too much. When he was overthrown by Epsilon and had his memory wiped, he became a much nicer dragon, and forgot about his greediness and hunger for power. Nalani and Erebus loved each other very much again. They have two offspring, Cara and Caecilius.

However, Nalani and her family eventually came to an unfortunate predicament. During a beastclan raid, she and Cara were killed. While Cara had come to eternal sleep, Nalani was not fully dead... rather, during a spell gone awry, she came back to life shortly after her death, but while she wasn't fully alive, she was not fully dead. Rather, her death was "slowed down", to the point where it will take millions of years for her to finally succumb to her wounds. As a result, she is constantly experiencing dying.

She has gotten numb to the pain, and used to the wounds that never stop bleeding, but she is not used to the fact that many of her friends will fade away before she ever does...
