Oh how interesting. A shooting star... Right when the clan needs her most, Nightshade has completely vanished. The clan as a whole is incensed, and Elkrekeodh is talking about going so far as putting her in Nightforest's care when she is found. * Nightshade has returned, groggy and disoriented, to a set of irate rants by the clan-leaders and most of the border patrol. She has no explanation for her absence, however, nor her bruises, scrapes, and limp. * Nightshade is forbidden from leaving to go to any out-of-Fire celebrations, to which she has responded with great sullenness. |

Nightshade is a confident, aggressive dragon who serves as a raider and occasional sellclaw, though she is generally considered too abrasive to get much traffic. She has a mirror-like love of fighting, and despite her element, is highly suited to the lifestyle of Plague—her view of Nature is red in tooth and claw. While generally blunt in her mannerisms, Nightshade has a prying, probing side derived from early emulations of Liglanaerr and Laenalerr. While this does not endear her to most of the clan, it ensures she is well-liked by the skydancers, who rely on her to dig up information that is left hidden from them. Despite her attitude, Nightshade maintains a good relationship with Kudrin, Striker, Arietty, and Stormweaver, and a somewhat rockier one with Spruectip and Tarandrus, but is famously antagonistic with most of the clan. She and Plaguewinds, in particular, do not see eye to eye, and as each is quite given to selfishly robbing the clan for their own ends, their arguments can become quite heated, though Plaguewinds has yet to drive her from the clan. Charge So far, Nightshade has not found a charge, but seems to lack a drive to do so. This may be due to the fact that she was not hatched a guardian, and thus may retain a skydancer's nature. Physical description Nightshade is a somewhat small, stocky guardian with proportionately large wings. Traces of her original skydancer shape linger in the slender length of her head and her slotted wings. She has a sharp, resinous scent. She has a blocky, lumbering way of movement on the ground, but is more graceful in air or water. Combat Nightshade fights with physical blows. She augments her natural strength with a hard staff of gnarled wood, and relies on a mix of overwhelming strength and endurance. |

Origin Nightshade is a daughter of Northslope, and spent her hatchlinghood there back when they were in Ice. Much of her affinity for plants lies in the evergreens and hardy scrub of the land of Ice. During the Wavecrest Saturnalia, Nightshade appropriated clan funds and used them to transform herself into a guardian and gene herself. The entire clan was annoyed by this, though as it had no long-term consequences they largely forgave her. |

Kin Nightshade's father, Wisp, has gone on to serve Lightweaver; her mother, Chlorastrolite, remains at Northslope clan. On her father's side, she's the descendant of a long line of ungened dragons, mostly tundras, guardians, and skydancers. Her mother's ancestry lies largely unrecorded, but seems to be purely nocturne. Nightshade has three siblings. The oldest, Lithops, moved to the Scarred Wasteland but went on to be Exalted to Windsinger in her absence. The second-oldest, Knautia, passed through Derecho Canyon briefly on his way to the Tempest Spire. Her younger sister, Frost, remains at Northslope clan. Nightshade remains close with Frost and the two frequently visit one another. She has vaguely fond feelings for the others, but since they are gone, that is largely irrelevant. |
