"Praise poultices! Do you do anything right, Proton?"

Bastille is an aspiring herbalist. There's just one problem- he can't see. The last born of his clutch, he was fragile and sickly, resulting in his eyesight being permanently lost despite the healer's best efforts. This has not fazed him in the slightest. He relies on other senses; mainly smell; to get around. It is not unusual to see spirals smack into walls away, so he's realised he can get away with it. He uses his nose to choose the right herbs, grinding them together and creating potions. Whilst it is hard to find test subjects willing to try something a blind dragon concocted, he found if he asked one of the healer's to distribute it for him then he could observe from the rafters instead. As it is, he is naturally skilled- easily making remedies for headaches, colds, and bruises.

He is very confident in his abilities and will not be put down by others. Anyone who volunteers that perhaps he is not cut out for his job will be smacked with the sharp end of his tail. He knows what he's doing and with some help he will be one of the best herbalists in the land. Some wonder if his drive comes from the possibility that he could eventually create something that would bring his eyesight back, but this is not the case at all. If he really wanted to, he could find a skilled technician to do that. That is not the reason at all. The reason is that he knows he can do well, do better than anyone has before. The drive to succeed pushes him forward at all costs.
