Benthic Dragons Subspecies
Benthia relishes the deep pleasures of the stalking hunt, slowly luring in her prey with her glowing spines and trapping it within her jaws, or twining her body around it until--as with the deep pressures of the sea she prefers--compression strangles the life from it. Sometimes she prefers hunting in tandem with Pelagic: they are so finely attuned that they often seem like one horrific hunting creature with two heads and tails like tentacles. Always, she hunts ceaselessly in the darkest depths of the Sea.

Benthia finds in the recesses of the Leviathan Trench the Tidelord's most fearful prophecies, the ones so heavy with malefic portent that they cannot float up from the Spiral Keep, but drift downwards into the depths of the sea. She has mastered the interpretation of these, whispering their secret dread to the waves, as if the pressures of the abyss will crush the future from them.

Although technically a member of the SeaRuffle clan through her hunting partnership with Pelagic, Benthia has been seen so seldomly by members of the clan, and only in connection with her kills, that they speak of her as some legendary figure of ill-omen. Where Benthia appears, whispers of death follow.
