But seriously, I have to ask you to leave. If you’re here for a friendly visit, and I don’t think you are, it’s best to go in on the road down thataways. The Moors are strictly a wildlife grazing space.

It’s lonely work, watching the borders.

You’d think our happy little town wouldn’t need constant guarding. Right? Am I the only one? We’re on a gentle slope, surrounded by meadows and friendly Beasts, with nothing but clear seas ahead. I think I saw a baby whale overhead yesterday. The whole pod was there. Blotted out the sun like a huge cloud.

»The walls and ceiling of her den are plastered with fish scales. Shine a light in there and it might look like an inside-out disco ball. Besides her armory, there’s a little shelf holding a field guide and a waterlogged notebook full of bad poetry.

aesthetic: Nestled in a musty fur-lined trunk are a polished silver cutlery set, a crumbling iron skillet, and glow-in-the-dark vampire teeth molded for the tiniest of mouths.
