Morrigan is, to put it bluntly, an odd dragon, even by this clan's standards. Then again, being raised in complete isolation away from any other dragons would do that to anyone, would it not? She isn't even sure if the female dragon that raised her was actually her mother, or just claimed that she was, but the old magician was far too suspicious of dragonkind as a whole to ever allow her any interaction with them; the only companionship that Morrigan was allowed was that of the local animals. The witch had always claimed that they only had themselves to rely on...but then again, she had also always claimed to be the physical vessel of a goddess unknown to any save herself. Morrigan doesn't particularly think that she can trust much of anything that her former teacher told her, outside of the strange and unusual magics she could use and see for herself. The sudden and dreadful knowledge that the ancient dragon planned to use her as her next physical shell, however, was enough incentive for her to escape. Whether the witch was truly capable of it or not was not something she wanted to find out for herself. And upon finding herself here in the Shifting Expanse--and after a particularly strange incident where she helped to save the Imperial Teresa--she asked to join this odd clan, and was readily accepted. A surprise, to be sure, but she was just relieved that they didn't react like every other dragon she had met before that had been incredibly distrustful of her non-elemental magic--the shapeshifting kind in particular. It's made her more than a little hesitant to trust, or even more so than before, and she's slightly too quick to be cuttingly sarcastic or disdainful of anything approaching soft-heartedness. But in her eyes, only those fit to survive will survive, and being too kind has always been a recipe for disaster. ...Of course, she also still realizes that she has to be able to work in a group if she's to stay here, no matter how independent she insists on being, so she isn't completely unapproachable, but simply difficult. And dragons not wanting to have her eyes always drifting speculatively to their things while they're trying to speak with her are best advised to leave anything particularly shiny at home.
