 Once, there was a time when Glenmoril did not exist in this form. He did not move, except for his branches in the swaying of the wind; and he did not speak, save for the secret ways in which trees communicate. Glenmoril was a tree residing in the Viridian Labyrinth, and from what he can remember, he was very content there. During a quiet and still day the silence was broken by a battle between two nature clans. The fray happened right under Glenmoril's branches, and his trunk was struck multiple times by Nature magics.

Sometime after the dragons had all left his branches shriveled and shrunk into themselves. His leaves were absorbed back into the bark and his form shortened until all that was left was a dragon shaped tree trunk. Glenmoril opened his eyes for the first time, utterly confused. What are eyes to a tree? What are legs if not malformed roots?
