Purlen Guard / Warrior  Leaving her home among the other Glacial Roses in the Cloudsong was a difficult decision for Purlen. She loved her home, and her family, and the Wind flight. But the desire to undertake the Search had always been prominent in her family, and when it overtook her as a fledgeling she knew that she had to leave and find a new home. It was a long and harrowing journey -- she first ventured across her own flight's land, but despite her love for her home, the Windsinger never spoke to her, and eventually she was convinced to move on. Over the Tidelord's sea, the Tangled Wood, and the Earthshaker's domain Purlen ventured, flying the seemingly endless miles and stopping only to gather supplies, sleep, and occasionally explore a potential home. She was close to giving up as she reached the Scarred Wasteland, a place that she was never the type of dragon to be able to stomach. However, the Search kept pushing her forward -- she could not let herself tire until she had found a new home, and a new charge. At first, Purlen was reluctant to come to search the Starfall Isles, the ominous landscape and towering peaks unsettling her from a distance. However, when she came across the Starwood she quickly changed her tune. Purlen was fascinated by the glittering wood and the outreaching night sky along the shoreline -- every turn she found herself breathtaking by the scenery around her, and before long, she had fallen in love with the Starwood as so many before her had. With this feeling, her interest was easy to convince to join the Keepers of the Star Glade when Anise presented the opportunity to her -- she knew she was close to finding her charge, closer than she had ever been. However, actually meeting her charge was... Well, disappointing, to say the least, considering that it turned out to be the Clan's top scout (and, coincidentally, biggest pain in the behind): Technik. Despite the fact that she doesn't get along with her charge, however, Purlen takes her responsibilities very seriously, and she trusts the Search to not make mistakes, and will defend the Wildclaw with her life -- no matter how much they annoy her. As for her place in the clan, it was easy for Purlen to convince Lilith of her worth as a guard and a warrior, as she had become something of a fearsome fighter during her journeys.

Anise: Anise was the dragon who recruited Purlen, having run into the young guardian while picking useful weeds for alchemic supply in the Wood. Though they aren't especially close these days, Purlen is grateful to Anise, and she occasionally visits the Snapper in the gardens to exchange gossip and check in on her. Technik: Purlen is Technik's guard. They are no more pleased to be under Purlen's charge than Purlen is to have them under her charge, but the situation is inevitable thanks to Purlen's nature, and Lilith has voiced her Approval about it, so they try to keep their bickering to a minimum... at least when the other Keepers are within hearing distance. Technik finds being a charge to be smothering and uncomfortable, however, and often finds himself accidentally hurting her feelings because of that. Summer: They didn't get along well at first, Purlen doubting that such a small, mild-natured Coatl could be a useful warrior and Summer finding Purlen's stubborn attitude annoying, but eventually they earned each others' respect. These days, they consider each other friends. |
