Gibbous
Head of Clanguard The first of his siblings to leave the Southern Icefield to search for his charge, he eventually found it upon meeting Glow and his clan in the Windswept Plateau years ago. For years, he watched over the fledgling clan, watching it grow in the peaceful steppes. He began to wonder if his protection was truly valuable, until one day, when Glow announced his departure, and his charge began to segment. Gibbous was dismayed, though eventually decided to serve the dragons heading towards the harsh highlands of Dragonhome. Still, he believes that the separation of the original clan was his failure as a Guardian dragon. Regardless, he protects the new Earthen clan with much passion, though he no longer considers it his fated charge. Guarding his new clan is, to him, the only way he can make up for his failure, and thus takes it incredibly seriously. A stubborn, stoic, and slightly mean dragon, Gibbous can come across roughly to outsiders and friends alike. Any remote threat to the clan can illicit a strong response from Gibbous, regardless of its severity, much to the dismay of his smaller colleagues in charge of calming the massive Guardian... |

Relationships
Gibbous is at least a distant friend with most dragons in his clan. As head of Clanguard, every dragon that comes to reside in the Breach must meet with Gibbous, and will have a hard time being accepted by the others unless Gibbous also approves of them. He's especially close with his underlings in the Clanguard, and does his best to serve as a mentor for them. He kept his relationship with his former mate Crescent fairly private, before she left the clan they had both helped to found. Gibbous doesn't talk about this, but it's quite obvious that it saddens him. Gibbous is generally gruff to outsiders, but only troublemakers will truly make him angry. As head of Clanguard, he has to take it personally when dragons create problems for his clanmates. He has a much harder time dealing with emotional or ideological conflicts, as words are not his strong suit. Thus, dragons like Anivia and Muscar tend to be the bane of his existence... |
