Biography

Russel joined the clan as part of an arranged mate pairing. His feelings toward this could best be described as willing yet uninspired. He and Treefang were sent off within hours of meeting to the nesting grounds. After the initial, awkward pairing, they each retired to different parts of the lair.

Later that night, Russel went to catch a breath of fresh air and found Treefang just returning from a hunt, her jaws glistening with blood. She was embarrassed to be caught out, but his enthusiastic queries about the hunt quickly made it clear that he didn't mind. The next night, after having tended to their nest, the two went out hunting together. They made a deadly team, one lying silently in wait while the other flushed out their prey and herded it toward the silent killer. Soon they enjoyed each other's company in the daytime also, and became a formidable pair in the clan's ruling council.
