Heather McNamara was the cheerleader Heather and arguably the nicest of the group.

She seemed to think it was funny when Martha Dunnstock got a fake love letter but later in the film it is hinted that this may not have been the case, and that her persona may have been faked to impress her friends.

Later, Heather McNamara calls a popular radio show while Veronica and Heather Duke are listening and talks of the depression in her life and how Heather's suicide has affected her. The next day, Heather Duke tells the entire school about Heather McNamara's radio call. The humiliated McNamara attempts to take her life by overdosing on ***** in the girls' bathroom, but is saved by Veronica.
