Dagger joined Death Clan when it had just started out. He soon found a mate in the nocturne Lightning and they had a nest of two. He saw the babies leave on lives of their own and, like his now former mate, Dagger started fighting Beast Clan enemies. Finding this fun, he gained a reputation for starting fights, but slowly became paranoid of enemies, keeping an eye on his clanmates.

After Lightning left to join Glitter Lightninghouse Clan, Dagger became unsettled even more in his home. He felt that, even though they were no longer mates and had no desire to be anything more than allies, that Death Clan was too changed for him to stay. So, he made the decision to leave Death Clan and the new, possibly enemy, dragons behind in search of a new clan that he could trust.

Though "trustworthy" is not the first word that would come to mind when describing the Panchill clan, that's exactly where Dagger found himself. Clan members originally singled him out because of his sheer strength, but Forgen decided things were too lax around the lair - he needed someone who was always on the alert and suspicious of everyone. You can't have your underlings getting too comfortable, after all.

Even though he is fiercely loyal to his new clan, his paranoia continued to grow. These days, clanmates regard him as an intensely anxious hall monitor. If he suspected someone of ill will and it turned out to be false, well, that's Dagger for you. But if it turned out to be true...
