Biography
The Child of Flame
"When all else falls, fire will crackle with the last laugh."
Dark as midnight sun,
Smoke as black as charcoal
Fills into our fragile lungs.
Cause when our demons come,
Dancing in the shadows,
To a game that can't be won.
The growl charged the air, the wood spit and popped in the fire, drawing the attention of the hiding Beastclan camp. The Serthis drew their blades, motioning for the smaller ones to hide among the trees behind them.
The air was tense as something grew closer. It howled and wailed, growing near. Suddenly, a dragon burst through the trees, landing in a pile of burnt fur and singed feathers. One Serthis slithered close, blade at the ready. But he was stopped in his tracks by an elder, who came face to face with the dragon.
The coatl was weak and starved, on the verge of death, yet she seemed calm. She looked at the Serthis with sad eyes, before looking at the bundle in her arms. The orange flecked Serthis looked with her at the fledging hatch, only a few days old. The snake woman took him without a second thought, cradling him in her arms before looking again at his presumed mother.
"Please." Was all that she could manage before a great dragon swooped down and dug his claws into her side, flapping mightily as he left once more for the skies.
The serthis woman blinked slowly, it was hard to understand what exactly just happened before her. Still careful of the bundle in her arms, who slept as though he was the dead, she turned to the others sitting around the fire of her camp. "Can we keep-"
A much larger Sethis cut her off with the subtle raise of his hand. "Cassandra," his voice was low and threatening. "We can not keep this..." he looked down his narrow nose at the dragon hatchling asleep in his wife's arms then to her face. "Why?"
Cassandra shruged carelessly, waking the baby. "Why not?" She whispered as she began to hush the confused and crying child.
