Biography

Occupation: Dragon-in-training(Haven't decided his dream job yet)
Mate: Jewelplate

Yeah...My colors don't scream "light" to you, I take it? That could be true, if not for my gems glimmering with the light I possess. I'm Cavelight and it's good to meet you, strange dragon.

I was confused as to why I hatched with such dark colors. Besides genes, I was certain that there was another reason. My assumption was that my light was stolen.

I left my clan to find the light that I couldn't see, so to say. But being so young, I didn't realize how dangerous the world really was until I encountered trouble. Natara heard me cry out and she came to the rescue, tearing up the attackers. She was wandering around the area I was traveling, trying to hunt for prey. She was trying to catch the Wasteland Paupers that were migrating, otherwise known as the blue harvest. She admitted that all of the dragons of the clan she was in were having a contest to see who can catch the most.

It sounded like fun, so I joined in to forget my troubles and the scare I had. Natara was very skilled as a dragon known for their agility and limber structure. I only caught one compared to the number she caught. When we returned to her clan, I didn't know what to say. Everyone was so different, yet they were a clan. It's as if they understood something that unified them...

Then a strange dragon called out each name and they presented their number of butterflies while a young fae wrote down the information. Natara so far had the most. Then the strange dragon was asked by the one called Arveia how many did she and the hatchlings caught since they had permission to be a group for the hunt. (Arveia didn't partake in this contest since her kind doesn't eat insects.)

The strange dragon called Mimic presented the hatchlings' group effort; an item called a net with so many butterflies! But compared to Natara's bigger catch, it was only enough to win second place. The rest of the clan seemed surprised though. Cloudwing giggled about it as she kinda expected such a thing to occur. Gaja was boggled as to how did the net even worked so well and Arveia laughed at the faces of everyone that got shocked by a prey's antic. Wait! Mimic is prey?

It don't matter anymore. Mimic seemed smart enough to help me find an answer to my problem with my lack of light. I presented my only catch to her and she said that I was adorable. I admitted to her my problem about my lack of light and the assumption I had. She showed me a bowl of water and asked me if that's all I see when I look at myself. wondering why she would ask that, I took a better look at my reflection and saw something I had missed; light was glittering from my gems embedded on my body.

Mimic said that I may look like the darkness inside a tunnel, but I have a guiding light that has yet to shine bright enough for others to see. Now that she said that, I couldn't agree more. I need to learn about my light powers and become that light eventually. The way she taught me...Is that why the other dragons don't see her as prey? I can't see her as prey myself. I want to learn under her now...She may be what I need to bring out my light and make it shine.

I've grown since then and I'm still training under her and the other dragons until I figure out what I wish to do with myself. But I do know that I can at least start finding my light by guiding Jewelplate through her darkness.
