Biography
Needs: Facet, Scales
Earth Representative
Aiden always tried to look out for his little brother, Anders. From birth the two were inseparable, easily identifiable from Aiden's stripes and the icy tone of Anders' scales. They could always be seen playing in the magma pools, or up on the high ridge, wandering off toward Lightning territory despite being told it was forbidden. Anders' clever ideas always had a way of getting Aiden in trouble, but he would be there to protect his brother til the end.
The clan had long suspected that Aiden's Charge would be Anders, that he would follow and protect his little brother to the ends of the world, and they weren't far off. Aiden would protect his little brother no matter the cost, but Anders was not his Charge. What most overlooked about Aiden was his love of history, and his desire to go back to his roots; back beyond the Tidelord's creation of the guardian species, back to when the Gods spent their days slumbering in the Pillar of the World, where the Earthshaker still mourns. He never thought he'd have the chance to go there, until the Earthshaker Ceremony came about, and Cassandra brought the clan to Dragonhome.
When they reached Dragonhome, Aiden was in awe. Books could not do the Pillar justice, and it both amazed and saddened him to see the physical representation of the Gods' treaty so broken. His interest did not go unnoticed. Aiden was inducted into the ranks of the Earthshaker's Guard, like his father before him. Aiden never knew his father - Andrijan was exalted, gone to serve the Earthshaker before he was born - but he felt suddenly closer to him then he ever had before, and it assuaged a hurt he didn't know he'd had.
But what of Anders? Aiden didn't know what to do. He loved his little brother more than anything, and knew he'd be constantly worried for his safety, even if Anders had grown larger than him. When the Head of the Guard came to him with knowing eyes, Aiden spilled all of his misgivings to him, and was not expecting the kind chuckle, or the compromise.
Aiden would spend most of his time with his clan, making the trip to Dragonhome once a month, the week before festival time unless an emergency called him to the Pillar. That way he could keep an eye on Anders and still fulfill his duty - it was an arrangement that quite a few dragons kept, and it was a great relief. Even when Anders found himself in the Stormcatcher's employ, Aiden still made time for his brother.
