Biography

Clan of the Endless Skyline

On a dark, stormy night, as the nightjars swooped and screeched overhead, Iseult wept for the loss of her beloved.

Grandeur, caught up in the grand scheme of the world, bade her farewell and flew for the Scarred Wasteland, compelled to spread the word of his Icewarden's glory. Iseult feared for his safety, but more than that, she resented the dragons of Sornieth for placing duty above love, her love, that most fundamental of emotions.

By the light of the moon she consulted an ancient text. By the dark of the night she gathered ingredients, rare materials that required more than a simple foraging. Innocent blood was spilt in the Windswept Plateau. She arranged them carefully, drawing a circle of chalk as Khthonios had taught her. By the break of dawn she recited its verses, careful to pronounce every word of its foreign, ancient tongue perfectly.

And in the brilliance of the rising sun he emerged, a monster beyond comprehension, something so powerful as to herald the end of Sornieth, given the chance.

She bound it to her will, snapping a collar of darkest steel about its shadowy neck. Immediately the creature took form; it became a dragon, a Skydancer, one almost exactly in her likeness, but glossier, as though the light shied from it and fled through its pelt. Its brilliant eyes, a ghost of a pupil barely visible beneath the blazing golden, turned to her, and they were unreadable, unknowing, unpredictable.

"I am at your bidding," it stated.
